Atlantic Flagpole FAQ β Answers to Your Flagpole Questions
Everything you need to know about your Phoenix Telescoping Flagpole system, structural engineering metrics, and warranty claims administration.
Shipping & Delivery
It is our policy to get product out as quickly as possible, so we will often ship products out separately in an effort to expedite your order. We figure you would rather have part of your order when it is available, rather than waiting for all items to be available. We also have multiple fulfillment centers across the country and ship from where items are in stock. We do try to ship you as few packages as possible and will send you a shipping confirmation, including a tracking number for each individual shipment, when it leaves our warehouse.
Your basic Phoenix Flagpole includes the following INSIDE its box (unless a specific accessory has been back-ordered):
- Phoenix Telescoping Flagpole
- Premium American Flag
- Ground Sleeve (for seamless installation)
- Securi-Shurβ’ Theft-Deterrent Security Locking Device
- 3" Gold Ball Topper (Note: This specific item ships separately if you ordered a 25' pole assembly)
The 3" gold ball topper is included in your Phoenix Telescoping Flagpole kit shipment. For 20' poles, we carefully protect it inside the white ground sleeve at the bottom of your pole to keep it safe during transit. If you ordered a 25' pole, your 3" ball topper will always arrive in a separate shipment because it cannot physically fit inside the master flagpole box setup.
Installation & Maintenance
Sure! We provide comprehensive structural blueprints and guidance directly here: Official Installation Instructions Portal.
Not at all. For each size of our flag pole, installation is quite simple. For our Telescoping Flag pole, just dig a hole 28" deep and 14" in diameter, then level the bottom of the excavation hole with #2 crushed stone or pea rock. Next, insert the ground sleeve and fill the surrounding area with quick-setting cement. Insert the telescoping flagpole into the ground sleeve in its fully collapsed position and check balance levels. Remove the flagpole entirely until the cement has fully dried.
No. Our American-made anodized, aerospace-grade aluminum will never rust, corrode, oxidize, or EVER need painting. It's virtually maintenance-free. However, if you choose to wash down your telescoping flagpole over time, we recommend using a soft sponge combined with mild dish detergent.
All core hardware components, including the essential Ground Sleeve assembly, are fully included in Atlantic Flagpole's Telescoping Flagpole packages. Raw installation elements such as concrete mix, tracking wood wedges, and baseline sand must be provided independently by the installer. Flags, structural swivel rings, and the gold ball ornament are included in the master kit box.
Product Details & Quality
Right here in the United States of America! Exactly what you should expect from a premium, top-tier setup. American Engineered, American Aluminum, American Made!
We take quality and craftsmanship seriously, and we stand firmly by our work. You get a towering, tough, yet beautiful flagpole system built to last. As part of our flagpole family, you receive a solid 3" diameter base section (where most competitors only offer a weaker 2" or 2.5" foundation) alongside a FREE 4x6 Premium Nylon US Flag.
You also secure the absolute best warranty protections in the entire industry: a lifetime guarantee on the swivel rings and interlocking sleeves, industry-exclusive Flagpole Theft Replacement Coverage through the Phoenix Pol-D-Fenseβ’ Theft Protection Program, and an unheard-of 365-day home testing return framework on our flagpoles.
Most flagpoles are chosen based solely on the visual aesthetics desired by project owners. An industry accepted and inexpensive way to get a visual feel for the height of the flagpole is to take a kite string and attach it to a helium-filled balloon. Simply allow the balloon to the area you were considering flying the flag, and measure how much string is out to give the desired flagpole mounting height.
There are four sections in our 20' and 25' telescoping flagpoles and 3 sections in our 15' telescoping flagpoles.
Our flagpole's advertised height is what it will be after it is installed in the ground following our provided installation instructions.
Warranty & Returns
Flags are inherently wearable items subject to environmental wear. We proudly offer an exclusive 6-month warranty on all flags purchased at full price on our website (Free promotional flags or flags included in bundle deals do not qualify for independent warranty tracking). If your flag qualifies, simply email our team a clear picture of your torn or frayed flag along with your order details.
Phoenix Telescoping Flagpoles (365-Day Guarantee): We are the ONLY company in the industry that allows you a full YEAR to decide whether you want to keep your flagpole setup. Simply take a picture of yourself next to your installed flagpole to show us you tried it out, and let us know why it didn't fit your needs. You will receive a full refund, less shipping, once items are returned undamaged. Note: Your ground sleeve and step bolt do not need to be uninstalled from the concrete base.
All Other Accessories: We maintain a standard 30-day return policy window for all other standalone merchandise and accessory products sold on our web store, provided items remain in original, unopened packaging.
Our systems are incredibly rigid, boasting a verified engineering 100 MPH wind rating under proper flag configurations. The limited lifetime manufacturer warranty fully covers storm damage for operational component parts. Replacement hardware parts for failed components are free of charge, with the customer only covering standard shipping costs.

YES! Observing structural movement, bowing, or swaying in your flagpole column is completely normal. This is an engineered safeguard known as structural "flexing." All premium flagpoles are designed to flex under stress; this intentional behavior safely disperses wind velocity energy down the column instead of allowing the metal to fracture or snap under rigid resistance.
Your telescoping flagpole system is warranted to remain completely free from defects in materials and workmanship for life to the original owner. Phoenix Flagpoles will replace failed or damaged parts without any charge for parts. The owner is responsible for shipping and handling charges. Your warranty must be formally registered via our portal within 90 days of delivery to activate coverage protections.
Flag Care & Usage
You can fly up to 6'Γ10', however we recommend you don't fly a flag larger than 5'Γ8' or 5'x9.5'. A 4Γ6 flag is ideal for our 20' and 25' telescoping flag poles. When you fly two flags in a high wind area we recommend the first flag be no larger than 4'Γ6' and the second no larger than 3'Γ5'.
The major enemies of your flag will be wind, water, sun, pollution and carelessness. Occasional washing in warm mild-detergent water will prevent dirt and pollutants from attacking the fabric. To prevent mildew, let your flag dry thoroughly before storing it. The best way to stretch your "flag dollar" is to have three flags: one flying, one in the wash, and a clean one in reserve.
Yes! Simply telescope your flagpole down, remove your American flag, then re-attach your flag to the middle and bottom swivel rings (instead of the top and middle). then telescope your flagpole back up!
Flag Etiquette & Legal
According to the federal Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005, residential associations and HOAs may not adopt or enforce any restrictive policies that prevent a property owner from proudly displaying the flag of the United States on their residential property. Many of our customers have presented a physical copy of this federal act to their local HOA boards to immediately clear installation disputes.
The American flag may be displayed 24 hours a day if it is properly illuminated during all hours of total darkness. The American Legion interprets "proper illumination" as a light source sufficient to ensure the flag is easily recognizable by a casual observer. You can utilize our optional solar flagpole light kits to achieve this standard seamlessly.
Key guidelines: The union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right (observer's left). When multiple flags are on the same halyard, the U.S. flag should always be at the peak. When flags of two or more nations are displayed, they are to be flown from separate staffs of the same height and should be approximately equal size.
Accessories & Other Uses
