Tools & Materials Needed

Concrete: (4) 60lb bags of Pre-Mix (Standard or Quick-Dry)
Drainage: 15-20lbs of Pea Rock or Gravel
Tools: Shovel, Spade, or Post Hole Digger
Precision: Level and Tape Measure (or yardstick)
Mixing: Water and a container for mixing cement

Installation Steps

Step 1 Select a location clear of all overhead power lines and underground utilities.

Step 2 Dig a hole 14" in diameter and 28" deep. For sandy or soft soil, a larger hole is recommended.

Step 3 Shovel 4-6" of gravel into the bottom of the hole to provide critical water drainage.

Step 4 Install the stop bolt through the pre-drilled hole in the ground sleeve (hand tighten only). Mix your concrete.

Step 5 Push the sleeve into the gravel base. Ensure the top of the sleeve remains at least 1" above ground level.

Step 6 Important: You must push the sleeve into the gravel so concrete doesn't seal the bottom and ruin drainage.

Step 7 Cover the sleeve with the "red cap." Shovel concrete into the hole around the sleeve, being careful not to shift its position.

Step 8 Remove the red cap briefly to check for plumb with your level in several spots. Re-cap immediately to keep the interior clean.

Step 9 Allow concrete to cure for 24-48 hours. Remove the cap and slide your flagpole into position.

NOTE: While concrete hardens, we recommend placing a warning flag or object near the sleeve to prevent it from being disturbed or causing injury. Always use the sleeve cap when the pole is removed to keep the foundation clear.
